Meatless June is over!



Well a month has gone by and I only ate meat one time,



 it was chicken right before the 10 day cleanse.


I didn't miss meat nearly as much as I thought I would.


My digestion seemed a lot better and my skin nice and clear.


I will start eating meat again but I keep days where I do not eat meat.

I probably won't be posting much for a while, 
I will be moving in to a new home.

I start posting as soon as I can or I will post during my next cleanse.

Day 10 Summary

Day 10 and the last day of the cleanse is here!






Lost around 5 lbs but more importantly 
infused my system with vital nutrients!
Was a great overall experience 
and its feels great having gotten through it.
Next time will be the Fall cleanse in 3 months!

Day 9 Summary

Day 9 is here and it's almost over.
It's been really hot the past few days.
I have been careful not to over exert myself.
I have been eating more nuts to 
make sure I am getting enough calories.

Re-hydrating after a 5 mile walk.

Picked up some more Coconut water and tea at the store.




Ended my day playing World of Warcraft like I do every Tues-Thurs.

Day 8 Summary

Only a couple more days left and I am ready for it to be over for sure.
I am down to 187 lbs. I also feel pretty great.

Took a 4 mile walk.

Love this smoothie from the store.


Making a smoothie soup has really helped me 
feel like I am consuming a proper meal.

Morning Day 6

Day 5 Summary

Day 5 is here and I am halfway through my cleanse. 
I have almost gone two weeks only eating meat ONE time.
When this is over it will be 3 weeks.
I may just go the rest of the month meat free.

Friday was shopping day and I restocked on Greens and Lemons.
I also got some more Detox tea and Kefir.


One of the things I am excited about is Watercress.
The most nutrient dense green on the planet.
Top of the charts on the nutrient density list.


I am feeling great and I have absolutely no acne this month. 
I usually get random acne, nothing bad but annoying.
I am thinking is has something to do with consuming
animal oils but I am not sure. Maybe just oils in general.

The next 5 days will probably be the ones where
the mental game gets bad but I can always
eat a ton of raw veggies, yay! 

Weight update: Holding steady at 190 lbs.

Day 4 Summary

I am going to start posting these at the end of the day 
rather than in the morning the day after.

Day 4 has been great. I made sure I consumed more calories today.
I had 3 smoothies and all had almond milk for more calories.
They all tasted amazing and I also made a slushie with watermelon and basil.

Had no headaches and never hungry. Tomorrow I go shopping for more greens and fruit.
I feeling pretty good about being able to go the 10 days without 
wanting food so bad I feel like I will go crazy.

Day 3 Summary

I had a pretty bad headache at the end of Day 2 
so I will be adding Basil to all of my smoothies today.

I started my day as usual and played some 
Wii Tennis before my first smoothie.
I drink my Detox Tea while writing this blog.

I ran and walked on the treadmill for around 30 mins.
Started feeling lightheaded so I cut it short
and that persisted the rest of the day.
I may need to up my calorie intake tomorrow.


I treated myself to a Mint Melon Slushie!
It had:
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Mint Tea
Ice


My BM's have settled down to 1 per day it seems which is good.

The only time I get hungry is right before bed, I am used to that during a fast/cleanse.
It's nowhere near as intense as I have experienced before.
Eating solid raw veggies one time a day really helps overall.
The mental battle of thinking about food isn't as bad when you know you 
will be eating something solid each day.

Also when you are eating that snack veggies taste so damn good!

I really enjoy these cleanses but you should never do them more than every 3 months
if you are doing them for more than 3 days.

I use 3 day cleanses after a period of unhealthy eating like a vacation or holiday.

Smoothies are just the easiest way to get ONLY good stuff in you.
And they can and SHOULD taste good.

Day 2 Summary

Day 2 I was on the toilet far less thankfully. 
Things have settled down there. 
One thing I have noticed is a little bit of a headache and hunger at the end of the day. 
But nothing horrible. 
I enjoy the routine as it's very similar to what I normally do even when not on a cleanse. 
I use smoothies for lunch often and drink lots of tea and water.





My Ginger Beer finished carbonating yesterday so 
I think I will enjoy one of those after my dinner smoothie each evening.
So far I have been snacking on raw veggies one time per day 
and a handful of nuts around 6pm. 
I don't plan on snacking more often than that.

Day 1 Summary

Day 1 is over and I am feeling good this morning. 
I started my day with 24 ounces of water followed by Detox Tea. 
And then the Smoothie. Spinach Cilantro Strawberry Banana.


I then went to the health and grocery stores.
Picked up some Bee Pollen/Algae and Detox Tea.
At the grocery store I got a bag of Turnip Greens and more Tea.


The lunch smoothie had tomato, basil, strawberry, banana, with turnip greens.

For a snack I ate raw carrots, celery, peppers, and radish.
Apple and nectarine. Sunbutter.

Dinner was a Tropical Sunbutter Green Smoothie with Kefir for Probiotics.



Drank plenty of water and tea throughout the day. I also walked around 4 miles.
I had far too many trips to the toilet. It was unexpected for Day 1.
I am hoping that settles down.


Weight before starting cleanse was at 195lbs.

10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse

So I am 7 days in to my Limited Meat June and my sister
 announces she wants to try a new 10 day Smoothie Cleanse. 
This one involves raw fruit and veggie snacking which is used to help with any hunger that develops. 
You can always limit severely or omit the snacking and stick to the smoothies. 

I admit that it is very tough to go 10 days only drinking your food. 
Days 7-10 are NOT fun. 
And if you are new to cleanses days 1-4 can also be horrible. 
So the addition of snacks really helps ease someone in to a cleanse this long.
Allowing someone to eventually be able to slowly get
rid of the snacks and stick to only smoothies the full 10 days.

I jumped at the opportunity to try this cleanse as well as 
knock off another 10 days where I will be focused on a plant based diet.
I will be consuming Chicken today, my first meat in a week.
After the 10 day cleanse I will have gone over 2 weeks only eating meat ONE time.
After this cleanse I may decide to go the rest of the month meat free.
We will see ....

Tomorrow starts the cleanse and the next 2 days will involve the most snacking as I transition.
After that I will probably limit snacks to 1 or 2 times a day.
